How to rapidly relax — anywhere

When we are in a relaxed state of mind it is so much easier to deal with and react to the curve balls, big and small, that life throws at us. The following technique rapidly promotes a state of calm and relaxation resulting in our ability to make better decisions and to react in a more favorable way. Very useful.

18-Second Relaxation Technique

1. Sit comfortably.
2. Close your eyes.
3. Inhale through your mouth for the count of 5.
4. Hold your breath for the count of 6.
5. Exhale slowly through your mouth for the count 7.
6. While exhaling, you might want to say or think a word that brings tranquility to you.Such a word may be “peace” or “calm”.

If you use this technique in a public place it is quite okay to keep your eyes open.

This effective exercise takes only 18 seconds. We can all find 18 seconds. Practice it 3 times a day, once in the morning, once at noon and once in the evening, that’s a Grand Total of only 54 seconds and whenever you have a sudden need to attain calm. Those 54 seconds can make a huge difference in your quest to attain increased peace and calm.
